why a literacy campaign?

Reading is something that has always been important to me. However, as I’ve gotten older, my free time has become all the less abundant. Consequently, the amount of time that I now dedicate to pleasure reading is not the same. When I was younger, I oftentimes also found it difficult to talk about my books, either because people couldn’t make connections between books, or were simply not reading. In the era of COVID-19, my goals with this literacy campaign are twofold; first is to allow myself and others to find our love for reading once again, and second is to create spaces to talk about our adventures, regardless of whether or not we’re reading the same books.
